Sexually Transmitted Disease

You can’t tell is someone has a sexually transmitted disease, or an STD, just by looking at them. Having new partners, many partners, or a partner who has many partners, increases your chances of getting an STD. STDs can be passed on even when there are no signs present. You can get the same STD many times. Also, there are no vaccines available to prevent most STDs. Birth control does not prevent STDs and condoms may help prevent the spread of STDs, but are not 100% effective.

Anyone who is sexually active should have regular checkups for STDs by a doctor or clinic.
